The World Cup via Qatar was a Rollercoaster of a Ride within he FIFA-Realm. This was probably the Most-Unpredicable World Cup in ots Entire-History. It was very exciting to witness, to say he least. Yet, in spite of the Controversies, Disappointments, Islāmophobia/Xenophobia surrounding the Host-Country (Qatar) & how the Moroccan National-Team was treated via Media: the Atmosphere of the World Cup 2022 will definitely be memorable for Decades to come. One Particular-Highlight, perhaps one which eclipsed everything else, was when Argentina won the World Cup. With Messi leading Argentina…let’s face it: they got it done. But, when the Dust settled, immediately, People started labeling/claiming that Messi is the GOAT of Football.
In my Mind, I was like: “Wait…how dare These-People just forget about Pele?!!! How does anyone whom knows, thinks/feels they know, anytning about Football/Soccer just bypass Pele & audaciously place Messi above them?!!!”. Messi was never named “Athlete of the Century”, by the International Olympic Committee (IOC)…Pele was. Messi was never named as one of the “💯 Most-Important People of the 20th-Century, C.E.” via Time Magazine…Pele was. Messi was never named “World-Player of the Century” by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS)…Pele was. Messi never averaged 1-Goal per Game throughout their Football/Soccer-Career…Pele did. Messi was never named “The Greatest” by FIFA…Pele was. Messi’s Football/Soccer-Career will never be a Guiness World-Record…Pele’s Career was & still is. Messi was never capable/able to use Sports to pause any Military-Conflicts, including initiating a Ceasefire during a Civil-War via Nigeria…Yeah, Pele did that.
I find it truly disrespectful, to even place Lionel Messi in he Same-Category as Pele. That’s literally like attempting to put Michael Jordan in the Same-Category as Bill Russell…Russell was literally the Pele of Baskeball/the NBA. And, much like Pele: Russells Entire-Career via the NBA is a Guiness World-Record. There’s literally nothing in Football/Soccer that can be named that Pele hadn’t accomplished, in terms of Prestige, Class, Principle, Integrity, Accolades, Victory, etc. As an Individual-Player & as well as a Teammate/Team-Leader: they acually set a Diamond-Standard for Sportsmanship. The FIFA-World & everything the World knows it to be wouldn’t be what it’s evolved to become, without Pele’s Contributions. This isn’t Opinion…this is Stone-Cold Fact.
