There’s a very popular Bullshit-Translation of a Hadīth/Narration in which it’s so claimed that Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said, “Whomever wants to look at ash-Shaytān/Satan then let them look at a ‘Black-Man’.”. But, the Actual-Hadīth is: Whomever wants to see ash-Shaytān, then let them look to Nabtal ibn-il-Hārith.”. This-Mistranslation initially appeared via the French-Translation of the Sīrah/Biographical-Work of Muhammad ibn-Ishāq: the Translator being an Non-Muslim Islāmophobe/Xenophobe by the Name of Guillame.
There’s Several-Things wrong with this:
a. ash-Shaytān is never given Human-Sifāt (Characteristics/Qualities) via at-Tanzīl/Revelation, not even prior to the Revelation of The Qur’ān.
b. This clearly pontificates/promotes al-`Asabiyyah/Xenophobia, which none of the Anbiyā’/Prophetic-Individuals (Peace be upon them altogether) ever co-signed nor advocated.
c. Damn near all Arab-Peoples prior to & via the Lifetime of Muhammad (Peace be upon him) were Brownskinned/Darkskinned-Persons, literally including Muhammad himself.
d. There was an actual Person mentioned by Name via this Hadīth whom Muhammad was directly referring to & not “Black-People”…his Name was Nabtal ibn-ul-Hārith.
e. Nabtal ibn-Hārith was a Munāfiq/Hypocrite, during the Lifetime of Muhammad, via al-Madīnah, whom was a Staunch-Enemy of al-Islām/Muslims.
f. This Hadīth is literally based upon at-Tafsīr/Commentary of The Qur’ān, via Sūrat-it-Tawbah/Chapter of Repentance.
(Noble-Qur’ān: Chpt.9, V.61; at-Tabarī; as-Suyūtī; as-Suddī; ibn-Ishāq)
