Atharī Corleone’s Most Wanted: The “Scholars” Versus the Importance of the Scholarly-Mindset

al-Muqaddimah/Prelude

Everyone thinks/feels they know something about something. We, as Humans, all want to be “Know-It-Alls”: it’s al-Bashriyyah/Human-Nature. But, the Problem is that Most-Humans severely lack the Scholarly-Mindset.

Let’s first define “`Ālim/Scholar”

An Individual who’s mastered an `Ulūm (Study, Science, Field, Discipline, Profession, etc.).

A Person who’s acquired Academic/Experiencial-Expertise in a Study, Science, Field, Discipline, Profession, etc.

Now, there’s Lots of Muslims (particularly/especially) whom view/deem themselves as “Persons-Of-Knowledge”. However, they must be corrected because in fact they’re not whom they claim to be. I say this authoritatively, because clearly they lack the Scholarly-Mindset.

What Exactly is a Student of Knowledge – Talib ul ilm

OK…you lost me: what da Hell is da “Scholarly-Mindset”?!!!

#GoodQuestion…

…#Answer:

The Scholarly-Mindset is predicated upon 2-Qualities which any True-Scholar actually possesses. These 2-Characteriststics are essential for any being a True `Ālim (Person-Of-Knowledge).

Number-1

An `Ālim is always willing to recognize/accept the Reality that they don’t know everything.

Number-2

An `Ālim is always willing to recognize/accept the Reality that they can learn something from anyone: regardless of whether they’re Right or Wrong.

Hold-On, mi Yute…mi nuh done yet:

There’s also being self-aware of the 2-Characteristics/Qualities of the Jāhil (Person-Of-Ignorance). Knowing whom a Jāhil is matters just as much as knowing whom an `Ālim is.

Number-1

A Jāhil thinks/feels that they know everything.

Number-2

A Jāhil thinks/feels they’re a Only-One whom can teach someone something.

There’s actually Several-Things which a True-`Ālim never tolerates/accepts

A True-`Ālim never tolerates anyone taking their Speech over the Speech-Of-Allah.

A True-`Ālim never tolerates Others to place them upon any Unworthy-Pedestal.

A True-`Ālim never tolerates Others to Personality-Worship them.

A True-`Ālim never uses their “`Ilm/Knowledge” to use, manipulate, seduce, Others for Mundane-Gains/Pleasures.

However, we find via Countless Muslim-Communities all over the Muslim-World (from Pasadena2Madīnah): there’s so-called “Persons-Of-Knowledge whom dastardly use their “Knowledge” to pursue their own Ego/Desire-Driven Agendas. The Facts that “Shaykh-Culture” is a Real-Thing amongst Muslims: it directly proves my Entire-Point. “Shaykh-Culture” is a Prime-Example of how dangerous “Scholars” without the Scholarly-Mindset truly are. They’re Ruthless-Individuals.

This is precisely how/why Muhammad (Peace be upon them) warned that the 1st-Types/Kinds of Persons sent to an-Nār/The Fire, via al-Ākhirah/the Heteafter, will be the `Ālim/Scholar. And, equally, his is precisely how/why they warned that those whom’re made Qudhā (Judges/Rulers) between People are slaughtered without Weaponry. Moreover, based on this: there’s actually a Higher-Probability that the “Average-`Ālim/Scholar is Less-Pious than the `Ām/Layman.

The Absence of the Scholarly-Mindset is so abundantly obvious, that I personally have diverted my own Personal-Trajectory, as per the “Person-Of-Knowledge” Route. In Other-Words: I’ve personally done Certain-Things, stated Certain-Things, posted Certain-Things, authored Certain-Things, etc. (publicly at that for the Record) just so People wouldn’t look to me as a “Person-Of-Knowledge”. I know some of the Big-Players via the “Persons-Of-Knowledge” Class: some of them are my Shuyūkh/Teachers, some of them are my Ashāb/Peers, I’ve literally done Classes/Lectures with some of them, I’ve openly debated some of them, I’m just as Islāmically-Knowledgeable as some of them, some of them have admitted that they’ve learned from me, etc. But, the Difference is that I want nothing to do with the “Persons-Of-Knowledge” Arena: I know how deeply corrupt it is, as well as how stringly adfictive it is. I know how intensely one can get sucked-in/trapped in the “Persons-Of-Knowledge” Web. I don’t want that for my Life.
